Hi guys,

1st time poster long time reader :) but I've got a newbie question and I need some help...

I've been paintballing for a few months now and am pretty happy the way it's going.

I've been using C02 since day one, but it's very inconsistent with my A5 or Imagine.

I've been thinking about getting an air system (With Christmas coming up) but know absolutely nothing about them.

Can anyone give me some advise on what air systems are available ?

(As you can tell I haven't got a clue) :)

Thanks

Hey mate, I'm like you, newbie in the forums! On the limited knowledge I have I'l give you my view on it.

co2 is harder to regulate. When you chrono your marker @ 298fps it may shoot faster or slower with co2. With Air, it comes with a regulator (mine does anyway!) so I can set it to 298 and it will shoot that speed until it runs out of breath!

Like I said, limited knowledge so anyone else reading this who knows more than me, or can put me right please say as I'd like to know too!

Anyway hope it helps slightly!

alright mate.

if your looking at getting an air system it really depends on how much your willing to spend.

you could get an angel air system for about £350 but for a tip a5 it's a bit ott.

id look at getting a pure energy system as i think over all there about £180 - £230 and i think they do both 4500 psi and 3000 psi.

hope that helps abit

Thanks for the replies guys. Very good info

Yeah I thought an angel air would be a little ott both price and practicality. :)

Does anyone have any links to websites in the UK for some air systems that I can take a look at and possibly recommend?

Also, when attaching the reg to the bottle do you use loctite (Or something similar) the same as when attaching a valve to a c02 bottle ?

Phew, questions :)

Thanks

Air Systems

Hey M8, saw your post. Lets get down 2 business. A good air system is going to run you anywhere from $78-$450 (U.S. Dollars) Personally, I have a Dye Throttle system, it cost me some $$, but its worth it. I'll say though, air is important, but, if you've only been playing a few months, make some upgrades to your gun 1st. Air can always be purchased. However, more about air, there are some tanks that are pre-set @ a certain psi to let air out at (therefore changing the fps your balls will travel) a set level. There are other tanks that YOU can set at any desired psi so you control how much air goes through. The air systems arent cheap, but when you get one, get a damn tank cover, its not worth ruining a $300 investment(or worst, having the tank go crazy and explode or something) if it gets damaged. I got my tank (48 psi) for $78! Write back, i got to go, but ill write down some web sites that sell stuff cheap. PZ

Sorry guys, I just got back from a weeks holiday in the sun

*Dodges the paint coming his way* :)

Anyway, I've seen the preset one's on Fatbobs and I've had a friend who's got one and I had a blast with it 2 days ago.

The only problem was it didn't last long at all. I had to get it re-filled after 400 shots :(

Since the A5 uses the cyclone which needs extra air to work it's gonna be a problem on what system to get.

Also, I was reading on the tippmann forums and they are releasing a low pressue kit for the A5 in January.

So, the question stands, shall I wait until Jan and get a low pressue kit (Hopefully they will explain how it works for a complete n00b) or get an air system.

Sorry if this doesn't make any sense, but I'm used to humble C02 :)

Any thoughts ? :)
