not sure about the spyder, generally they arent very good tournament markers (exception of bad co.)

take a look in the classifieds section on this board, is some great markers to get you started in there (cockers etc)

hope that helps an u find a decent marker :)

i currently use a spyder and it has been a great marker to get me starter....though i have to admit i am now looking to move to a cocker

As Rich H says, most tourny players dont use spyders so it is worth going thru the classifieds if you want to go down that route

If, however, you decide to go for one check out the planet eclipse website

www.planeteclipse.com

for there combo deals, you can get the fenix marker as part of a deal including goggles, CO2, hopper and the marker for £288. However i would recommend upgrading to air as soon as possible.....so you can use it on future markers (extra £45 at time of purchase)

or you could go for the next marker down (the spyder E99) which is only £279 with air and with VAT

As you are quoting GB Sterling in your post i presume you are in england

don't know your currency but fenix's over here are $250, but our moneys worth more:D , that gun is so overpriced for what it has on it, you've played before so i'd say go with a cocker or impulse or a top end piranha, EF ext pro

if you got £300 theres a very nice 2nd gen shocker on the forums in the classifieds and his asking £300 and hes paying p&p. That'd be more than a awesome marker to start with. And its on co2 so the local sites should all be able to filll, (as some of us know some sites dont do air, GRR!)

I would go along f3zs idea. People change markers so often now You can usually find decent markers second hand for a lower price.

yup, all good advice, if you are going for tourney, then the spyder won't be enough.
Go for a good second hand deal, from someone you trust!!!!!!
If you don't know anyone who's selling then make sure you get someone who knows markers to check out the deal (I had to stop a newbie team mate paying £350 for a mag) and make sure you can try before you buy.
Any of the upper level markers will do for tourney........ it's all down to taste, but at the mo second gen shockers are VERY cheap and a decent cocker is always a good buy (very upgradable too). For £300 I'd go for co2, then when you have the cash, get a pre-set screw in air tank.
Second hand is the only way to go unless you have huge amounts of cash to spare.. you get an awful lot more for your money....
But I just love that new marker smell :)

WARNING!!
Stock Impulses are NOT fast in the slightest...they have the heaviest trigger pull ive ever felt on a marker...heavier than my classic Mag!!
That said, they can be upgraded to go very nicely indeed.
My advice would be a Cocker...because it will grow with you, you wont need to buy another marker out of neccessity...all you do is add bits to it, ending up with a Race or E-Blade electronic grip.
Groovy!

listen.................

ok, well, I have only shot the new Shocker, and a Voodoo impulse, they were OK, but ya know what, just do what Im doing and save for a nice E-blade autococker. Just ask Skeet about em, he's like a fuc**** p8ntball bible, he knows all the sh** you could ever want to know. lol, anyway, ask him, he'll inform ya. Thee Impulse was on, buy the blade trigger is much better if you are ganna buy it. just keeplookin, but a spyder aint a tourney marker, lol .
