help! fill rig problem!

i have just got a dive tank and fill rig, all seems to be fine but the rig wont screw into the dive tank, neither of the threads seem damaged but i can only screw the rig in one turn then it gets very tight and appears to be going in at a funny angle, are the threads diffrent?

it sounds like your just not screwing it in straight and its going in cross threaded.

nah, as i said, both threads are fine, i think they are just not the same size, cheers guys.

if youo can only put it in one turn and then it gets tight and starts going at a funny angle then it will be becuase the threads have not lined up correctly, If both the fill rig and tank are new and made in the uk then the threads will be the same, since there designed to go together. If however one of them is from the US then the pitch of the thread may be diffrent causing you problems. If there is a dive shop near you then i would take the fill rig there and try it in one of there bottles.

get some play dough. take an impression of the threads in the dive tank and see if they match up to those on the rig.
