Hi guys

I'm looking to get a bit more tactical when playing woodland, therefor looking at buying a pump gun. What would u all recommend buying would have a budget of £250?

I currently playing with a Dye NT10, iv tried playing with the dye pushed down to the lowest bps to try and stop me running in paintball's a-blazing but looking to go a bit further with a pump gun. so was wondering what u guys would recommended looking at and your personal preferences.

My personal favourite is a cocker based pump. Followed by sterlings and then phantoms.
but it really does boil down to personal preference. Find a cheap one to start with bud, I know a few guys up my site who wanted to do the exact same but couldnt get on with pumps in the slightest.

they are not easy to find now (i've not seen many others) but i love my Armson Rifle (armson assassin) it feels like a shotgun then using it, it looks awesome and can keep up with a fast paced woodsball game when required. it is also very easy to work on but not east to get spares...

but the main factor was i got it for under £100

i am always happy to let people try my markers if they are at a site near me (Leicestershire)

Hi Carbon

I bought an Empire Trracer (around £100 new) for much the same reason - it was great fun, very quiet and accurate with just the stock set up, a proto primo hopper and a 13cl tank.

If you get into it, pump play can really help you improve your movement, aim and patience! Can be frustrating at times but worth it when you get those "G's" :) You use a lot less paint too so a lot cheaper for a day on the field.

If you get a Trracer I would recommend putting some plumbers tape on every screw along the top of the barrel and the ASA as I've found they can come loose mid game after heavy use.

There's also a "rapid fire" option, where you can shoot by holding the trigger down and pump for all your worth - it's just difficult to keep the marker stable/on target so it's possibly not worthwhile.

You can get more accurate using A/T (slam fire) mode with practice, but it's better used at close range as suppressive fire. Having a lighter pump stoke and short cocking action also helps

Looking at your Sniper a shorter action would really help with slam firing - the trracer's action is something like 4" off the top of my head, it's a good feeling each time you re-cock but not helpful if you want to lay down some paint!

Not a sniper - mid blocked WGP prostock with a CCM pump kit

I'm totally crap at slam fire but you get the general idea
