dont know if this is in the right place sorry if it isnt

i had a brian wave (ouchhhhhh) why hasnt someone come up with the idea of electronic heated hoppers that keep ur paint at room tempreture during the winter mounths, as the site i work at no matter what we do the paint just breaks in the hoppers on the field because they become to cold in the hoppers, so i was thinking to make a heated hopper get some of those heat rod thingys and lay them down on the bottom of the hopper then coat the inside of the hopper with sum thermal reflective paint (the chrome stuff) and it would be run off batteries just the same as a normal electronic hopper with a on off switch as well.

what u think to this guys has it been done before?

ur input would be great
cheers, deathwish

Heat + plastic hopper shells and gelatin paintball shells = melted, gooey mess. It'd be next to impossible to do without melting the hopper shells or the balls or both.

Yes, Our team have been using 5 of them all year. They are called 'Flametech' heated thermal bags. They have a 12v heater matrix built into the fabric of the bag lining. It heats the bag to 32degrees, & then regulates it back down to 24deg.C. Once upto temperature (30 mins) it'll reliably retain it's heat for upto 6hrs. The difference this has made is absolutely phenomenal. No more fragile shells, old paint can be re-used (we've tested this with bags of paint upto 9months old). They're priced at £100 each or £85 if you buy 10 or more (www.fatbobspaintball.co.uk) each bag holds 3 boxes (6000) of paint. The same manufacturer also makes a heated mat, designed to sit in the bottom of a box of 2000 balls. This also runs 12v, heats to a constant 24deg.C, but has no heat retaining properties, so once it's unplugged it cools down, this has been designed to run off a 12v portable power pack.
