has any one come across this rule before?

Playing a walkon on Sunday, player was behind a bunker made out of logs, could see another player walking up to mug him so waits until the other player gets close enough and shoots him in the leg, clean break on his shin. He made the shot by shooting through a gap in the logs. Player attempting the mug runs through and lights the player behind the bunker up.

Player who was doing the mug then claims the shot on his leg doesn't count as you aren't allowed to shoot through holes in bunkers.

He was very lucky that the player behind the bunker was my brother using an old stock class gun since, had he been using his ego he would have, quote, "not stopped shooting him until my hopper was empty".

My question is has anyone ever come across this "no shooting through gaps in bunkers" rule? I've never heard of it. The player doing the mug was sorry after it had been explained to him and my brother soon calmed down and shook his hand.

I've heard of a "no blind firing" rule in airsoft ie you're not allowed to poke your barrel through a knot in the wood, or hold you gun over the top of the bunker to spray and pray.

I can see the logic in that they don't want people just randomly shooting birds out of the sky but i would still say it's a bit daft.

What you've stated above sounds like a case of the guy not liking the fact he was shot by a pump :D

Like dusty says normally its to prevent people sticking barrels through a barricade not.knowing how.close someone is etc "blind firing" probably the most frowned upon site occurance! But if its a you could see through etc can't see the issue as u could get shot through it!!

Sour grapes to me!

what's odd is that he did genuinely believe it was a rule, so I was wondering if he had played somewhere were it was. He was so insistant that he checked with both marshalls that were there.

The gap was big enough for my brother to actually aim through rather than just blind firing through and he had to wait for the bloke to get close as the velocity on his marker was only about 180 fps.

I got the impression that he had only just started playing with his own gear, maybe some sites have a punter rule about firing through the gaps.

Seems more of a punter day, site particular rule.

If he had lit me up he would have been made aware of his mis understanding of the rules in a typical warrior manor.

i've never heard of that rule and i must have played at close to 20 different sites as both a punter and a walk on, the only rule i have ever seen is not sticking the barrel through a gap to shoot someone point blank with blind fire.

Oh if only this rule was real...

Last time I played a walkon some dude got a lucky shot through a sort of triangle barricade, which has 2-3 cm gaps through the slats. So a round went through one slat on a side of the triangle, through a second slat on the other side, and into my goggles.

If the dude did think it was a rule he had probably heard it off someone who was a bit miffed when he got shot through a barricade or something, and just believed him. Some people are gullible, but get set straight in time...
