ok just thought of something,
having just read a couple of threads about the flash filling of air tanks and also about certain filling companies not filtering air, resulting in metal shards in air systems etc i thought of this
ok its a bit of a blue peter job but how about making yourself something like this:
you will need
one snap connector, male and female parts
one inline filter (im guessing asking at a dive shop would be a start)
an on/off tap, pref one with a longish handle that is easy to operate under pressure
a guage that reads to 5000psi and an inline connection for it
a couple of lengths of braided hose
now i know that a few of you will have worked it out by now what im getting at here......
connect one end to the 'dodgy' flashfilling rig with no air filter, it then passes the air thru a filter and then to a tap which you can slowly turn so you can adjust the flow into your bottle, whilst you watch the guage to see how full you are......
might sound daft but if the supplyer wants you to fill quick just to ensure a fast turn around and forget the safety side of it then stuff em, make an adapter and take your time, filter your own air!
good idea or not?
quick someone patent it or smart parts will be after me!
