OK I only have the new HALO but did do some research on the old HALO.
Ok the new ones are quieter, lighter and quicker. I have to ask how much cheaper you can get an old one for because if it is that much cheaper you could send it to oddysee and get the upgarde to HALO B spec for $30, $50 for coloured shell.

Both the HALO's suffer a couple of problems, if you do chop a ball mid game and you get shell up in the feed tube you're screwed! The hopper needs to be turned off removed (you'll lose all the balls held by the feed cup.) cleaned and then put back on before you'll be able to feed again.

Any downside these hoppers have though are easily outweighed by the feed speed advantage, despite what people say they aren't bulky or that heavy and Personally I find it balances the marker out very nicely (the batteries are at the front of the hopper balancing it out with your air bottle)

Given the option I'd buy another one!

Hope that helps,

Paul.

thanks for your reply. I'm only shooting a cocker with a .45 triggerframe with triggerjob. I don't know how great my ROF will be, cause i'm still waiting for this new cocker to arrive, but i'm seriously worried about out-shooting my (old-version) 12v revy. Especially because i'm experienced with cocker triggers and maybe upgrading to a pivoting trigger or electro frame later. I blieve the REAL feed capacity of the 12v revy is below 10 bps, right? So when i see a HALO (old version) on paintballgear.com for 90$ i'm concidering just buying that. Views?

Sorry bout the late reply!
Warpig ran some tests on the revy and other gravity fed systems I don't remember the results off hand but the link is here

Unfortunatley no halo test on there!

The old HALO's are cool just not as good as the new ones and for the price you quote if you want a HALO and fire quicker then 11BPS, you may as well bite the bullet and grab a new one for the extra $30 IMO.

I have both Halo's and the new one 'B' is much, much better. It has much less problems breaking paint inside it and it feeds faster.

As Paul said you are much better off grabbing the new one.

Paul, it was nice to meet you and SilverJay and quite a few others who read these boards. I had a fantastic day guesting for the Troopers and showing people level 10 in my RT. There were quite a few doubters who were amazed after I persuaded them to put their fingers in the breech on my RT and then pulled the trigger when they weren't expecting it :D . Most jumped and then looked very suprised.

I tried to find you at the end of the day but couldn't :( oh well won't be long till you have your own to play with!).

The troopers came third in their division and weren't far off being second.
