they always scrape a little bit on the bottom. make sure your screws in the bottom piece are protruding through too much.

open the halo up, the piece at the bottom (blue piece) which houses the gears n belt etc, give those screws a very small turn anti clockwise. they may be tightened up too much and scrape on the drive cone (paddle).

Does the drive cone not turn then? or only does so every now and then?

Diagnostic Steps

1. Turn on the hopper and look into the inside. Is the cone spinning? If so, go to 2. If not, go to 3.

2. Turn off hopper. Try to turn the cone back, against the spring (as if paint was "backing up") Does the spring return the cone to rest position? If no, go to 4. If so, go to 3.

3. Do you have good batteries? If so, go to 5. If you don't, replace the batteries with new ones. Now does it work? If so, go shoot someone. If not, go to 5 anyway.

4. Make sure hopper is off. Remove all the screws from the shell and the battery lid. Open the hopper lid and pop the shell apart. Mind you don't damage the board. Remove the raceway part entirely from the shell. Try dialing that cone back again, testing whether the cone springs back. If it still won't spring back, go to 7. If it springs back now, go to 8.

5. Try pluggin a 9v where the battery holder usually plugs in. Turn on the hopper. Does the cone turn? If so, go to 9. If not, go to 10.

7. Remove the screw from the top of the cone. Examine the bottom of teh cone. There should be a little "fin" that comes down to engage the spring that helps turn the cone without smashing paint. If the fin is intact, go to 11. If it is broken off, go to 12.

8. Do you have a rip drive? If so, go to 13. If not, go to 14.

9. You may have a busted battery holder. Most electronics supply stores should be able to replace it. If not, get a new one from Odysee. Replace the old one with the new battery holder, or limp along with a 9v until you get around to it. Shoot someone.

10. Disassemble the shell. Examine the battery wires. Are they crushed by where the shell joins together, or is one of the wires severed? If so, go to 15. If not, go to 14.

11. Now look at the blue tray. Is one of the 3 bolts that come up from below, holding the gear box on sticking up far enough to interfere with the cone? If so, go to 17. If not, Go to 16.

12. Buy a new cone from Odysee, or pick up an aluminum one from Shocktech or a delrin one from Zenitram. Put it in. Go shoot somone.

13. Sand down the part of the shell that alows the rip-drive to extend below the hopper shell. You want to enlarge the hole. Your problem is probably that the shaft was grinding on the shell. Reassemble the hopper and go shoot someone.

14. Remove the rip-drive disk-handle thingie. You will need to remove the clip and slide it off the shaft. Remove the gear box. Try turning the bearings with your finger tip. Does it move freely? If so, go to 20. If not, go to 21.

15 Can you solder well? If so go to 18. If not, go to 19.

16 You got me dude- board? Call Odysee or email them, and borrow a hopper so you can shoot someone.

17 Use a little screwdriver and lower the gear box screws just a touch. Reassmble everything else as normal. Go shoot someone.

18. Repair the wires, reassemble the hopper. Go shoot someone.

19 Buy new battery wire/ motor assembly from Odysee. Install, and go shoot somone.

20. Reassemble, with careful attention to where the shell engages the blue tray. Make sure the wires are not pinched between the tray and the shell. Make sure that everything lines up. As you close the 2 halves of the shell, observe the blue tray carefully. Did it get squished? If so, go to 22. If not, go to 23

21. Your bearings are bad. Unless you have the right size lying around, order new bearings from Odysee.

22. Disassemble again and determine why the blue tray is being compressed. Remove that impediment. Reassemble and go to 23.

23. Turn on the hopper. Is it working now? If so, go to 24. If not, go to 16.

24. Go shoot someone.
