I don't mind short single players as long as they are good. I find it such a waste of time when developers try to artificially extend their stories with boring stages.

So, was it any good?

It was halo, very much the same as the first. No duel wealding and you get these "power ups" like a jet pack, sprint and a couple of others we didnt use. It wasn't a bad game at all just nothing really new. As i said playing it on live could be amazing and make the game worth every penny.

I am slightly dissapointed by the storyline and gaming experiance, I also don't use standard controls, but stuff like attacking and reloading buttons don't feel as comfortable as before... or maybe I've played modern warfare too much.

The story is rather thin aruond the waste, there ain't as much story to noble team as I would have hoped for, bungie might have just created a game and pumped it out as a money making stratagy which is a shame as I love the Halo universe and have read the books on it, one of the medical characters from the books have been bought into Reach and if I was new to the game I wouldn't have a clue who she is/what she fully does... then again I haven't gotten to the ending.

The weapons also seem so much more developed that I thought they should have been in Halo 3 which is set in about 5-10years in the future! Stuff like the needle rifle and the repeater plasma rifle are something you shuld see with weapon evolution, I don't think the development team have thought this through at all.

Within the campaign there is also options to change the gameplay of how the enemy work and to disadvantage yourself from winning too easily, things such as making the enemy have more health and shields has made my life stressful when trying to kill elites with 3-4 sniper shots in the head... but of course, they move after the first 2 (who wouldn't?). The A.I has been massivly improved aswell, with drivers being able to hit, drivers driving better whilst your on the back of a warthog and creates a feeling that the computers there to help and not to hinder your fight against the alien zealots.

Last time I played Halo online was Halo 3 back in... 2008 as I've just been moving around too much with ork and universiy, But back then it was dwarfed by Modern Warfare and has since become a second rate game to in this genre of first person shooter gaming (in my opinion). This is still deff a great online game, if you have friends who also play it :)

But you know what, I've still bought the game, and I'm going to play it even though I've just been a little harsh on it here, because I enjoy it. Just hope the online universe is as good as I remembered it back in the day...

Don't buy this for the story, its not worth it, online maybe so if you have the friends

Recieved Reach yesterday, played through the co-op campaing on legendary in about 6/7 hours, I felt the campaign was good however it did seem lacking in depth at times and i also didnt feel any emotion towards the Noble team they are not really intriuging, personally after completing I was left wanting more.

I also played a couple of firefight games, definetly an improvement on the ODST firefight system, you can now customise the settings, decideding what enemies you want to face in each wave, what your weapon damage is also what classes are available ect. One personal issue i have is that they have changed the side the jackals hold thier shields so you have to shoot the exposed hand on the left when you are facing them, instead of the age old right, so i found my self automatically going for the right.

The online seems to be slightly faster paced than halo 3 and the inclusion of the armour augmentations always keeps you on your toes.

The customiseability of your character far outstrips that of any halo prior, you no longer have to unlock amrour through achievements, you now purchase them with credits earned from campaign and multiplayer.

overall I would rate it 9.5/10

Received Halo: Reach on monday, they day before release.....way to go PLAY.COM!!!

Im still playing the story/campaign mode on legendary, and finding it intense, the gamplay flows alot better than previous Halo titles, and the story is quite gripping in places.

I have only begun to scratch the surface with the game......i still have not been online or done any firefights....however i did play the beta for the online and it seemed better then halo 3.

I like the idea, of gaining credits throughout the campaign and online to buy your additional armour add-ons, instead of unlocking them in a certain order.........there are that many different permitations of the noble 6 that no one can look the same f you tried.....

Overall 9.5/10 sofar.........but this could increase....

Got it Monday. It's a very polished shooter, but nothing that we haven't seen before.

The campaign's gameplay was good, but the game fails massively at gripping the story of Reach and Noble team. I've never actually read the books, but after having a brief check through the Halo wiki site, the story and depth of the series are huge. Like LOTR huge. And the ending was cheesy as.

Online is online. Well done, but same old. I have more fun pissing off and team killing that annoying yank you get in every so lobby. Firefight's just a survival mode in Halo. Other games have done it better.

Forge is great, and adds a great deal to the game. But, it's just what Bungie should have done the first time.

The armour thing is a bit of a let down. Changing your helmet is the only slightly beneficial change. It's near impossible to tell what knee caps someone has on midfight.

8/10.
