Halo or Egg

Ive got my LCD running on intelli-feed at the moment and was out shooting it on sunday...

What one of the two would you recommend for my LCD with the view of going to an IR3?

Cheers

Halo B :)

I have three now to match my different coloured guns... I even have one for woods play that Rancid would love!

Hotpoint it's only 3-4 ounces heavier than an Evolution 2 when empty and with paint in, it's closer in weight. I need to get some more accurate scales and do some comparisons.

I think it also feel heavier because it feels more 'quality'. The Evolution 2 feels flimsy and mine doesn't work properly :(

Anyone know where I can get an Evolution 2 serviced in the UK? I bought it at the World Cup and it's not much good to me right now.

ok i didn't look for it on a search.. but i was after particular experiences people had had with angels... cos it may work fine on "your" cocker,timmy,imppy.... but what about it with an Angel LCD(with gated feed)/IR3?:)

Also the other reason i asked is on another site ( american ) they sway very much one way...

They also say that the halo double feeds on the angel ALL the time and there is no certain way to fix it... everyone uses different bodge jobs to correct it....

anyone experienced this???

Also as a back man which one holds more paintballs?

I'm not too bothered about overall speed as i never really hit more than 12bps.. i just want the extra speed to give me some lee-way....

The egg holds more balls, I've heard that about the angel as well. Oddyysee recommends setting the dwell a little higher, as well as screwing your anti double ball in tightly.

It is true that the extra pressure on the stack from the HALOB can cause problems on open bolt guns where the detents aren't tight enough.

But I just whacked one straight on a Fly iR3 without problems so it's not true to say it can't work.

The EvoII holds over pretty much 200 spot on, the HALo about 30 less. but other than on the break the capacity doesn't matter as you always fill from 140 tubes anyway.

The EvoII is a good comprimise, but the HALO is that bit better well mae, feels solid and have had no problems with mine for last 5 months, but had several in the last 5 weeks with the Evo.

Sorry for not being very productive but:

Are we still talking about paintball? ;)

Back on thread i've only seen (and heard) good things about the Halo but people with the Egg have been dissappointed about their value for money!

(I'll go back to fixing one of my three 12v revvys now)

nbr, Some people have trouble with Angels/IR3's and some don't.

WDP use a Halo to demonstrate how fast their gun can shoot, so it's definitely not a problem with them all.

Some people just need to 'tune' their Angels to get it all to work in harmony, and a couple of people have never managed to get it to work perfectly.

Hotpoint... all posts taken from Hopper forum on PBN

From that we can assume the Egg's weight - 3.28 ounces + 2.42 ounces = the egg's weight with lithium batteries. That comes out to 18.1275 oz for the Evo. with lithium batteries. Giving us a "fair" comparison in difference of 4.1825 oz. The lithiums only shave an extra 0.86 oz off the Evo's weight while the AA's shave an 1.8 oz off the Halo.
and worst case scenario originally posted by Phob

HALO B (with six L91 lithium cells): 22.31 oz.
six lithium Energizer L91 cells: ~3.07 oz. (87.0g)
six alkaline Energizer E91 cells: ~4.87 oz. (138.0g)

HALO B (with six E91 alkaline cells): 24.11 oz. (~1.51 lbs.)
Evlution 2 (with two MN1604 alkaline cells): 18.99 oz. (~1.19 lbs.)
So the weight is at worst 5 ounces difference but can be just 3 ounces. This depends on what batteries are used. This is also before paint. Since the Evolution holds a bit more paint the weight gap will close once full of paint.

You can also run the halo more reliably with a lowrise feed neck (in fact they recomend this to feed better with the Halo B) so the weight is going to feel less and more balanced on the gun due to being lower. I run all my guns with Halo B's with the shortest feed neck possible :)

NBR, the Evolution holds more balls, but I'm not sure how many. I play back/mid with a halo B and the slightly lower capacity has never bothered me. I was carrying 10 pods at the World Cup and happily shooting it via my Halo in many games.

I believe the whole of Nexus are using Halo B's on their E'blade cockers and people were remarking about how much paint they were shooting :)
