Hi guys, im thinkin of buyin a halo (probably the smartparts version where i think some work has been done to the bearings?) but just recently have heard some bad reports about them, not feeding, breaking balls in the feed drive bit n other stuff like how heavy they are.

Soo.. if anyone out there has one or has used one could you please give me some feedback - pros n cons n whether youd recommend buyin one (im a front player shootin an impulse n can easily outshoot my revy, also the halo is sposed to feed at some acute angles which i think could be handy)

thanks for all and any advice :)

I bought one and used it in the Welsh Open tourney and loved it,

It does have pros and cons:

Cons:

1) Its feed tube (bit that sticks in your impy) is too big and you may have to buy an adaptor to make it fit or but a lot of emery paper and get a few blisters.

2) A little bit heavy but when its on your marker that is negligable because of the design and the centre of balance, I play at the back and don't know what it would be like for you up front?

3) Eats batterys (6AA)

4) The lid is a biatch to open and close (its more a practice thing)

5) Bit noisy

Pros:

1) As fast as you like, you can not out shot it. I tried, it just laughed at me.

2) It is pretty much a warp feed stuck in the bottom of a hopper so it always has a few in the chamber for you, BUT the last 4/5 balls get stuck and don't get pushed out??

3) It may look big but to play with it is acctually quite nice, its gonna be a personal thing.

4) Did i say it was fast?

5) The day i first used it every one else on the team was using revys and i was using the halo. We were firing Inferno (Diablo) and they all had to open there hoppers and clean out the breaks, and the barrells. Not one break all day even when i was firing fast,

Did i mention it was quick?

I think is a great new toy. Maybe a little over priced but if you got the cash and are looking for a great hopper i don't think you will be disappointed.

Where are you located? You can if you are close enough come and give mine a go and see what you think. Email me at langston_tom@hotmail.com

Hope this helps

I have a halo,

ANd as you know jim have had some problems when using cheap paint, it was fine when I used it at nottingham, with blaze,.... It does hold slightly less than my revo, but I would say you can get 150 -160 in it maybe more... does eat batteries thou

I guess I have just be plain unlucky with it upto now..... should have it sorted for may 6,

Speak to John S, he may let you try his out... he isn't playing sunday so ask him if he says yes I'll bring it down for you...

I have not sanded mine down else you could have tried it.... I bought a high rise for my cocker and turned a few millimeters off the inside of the high rise feed tube.....
