i managed to get myself a Halo the other day

i bought it as faulty so was aware they may be problems with it and was informed that it ran ok with no paint in it, but once you filled it it just stopped spinning.

I have done some tests and it appears to work ok to me, as in it spins when empty, it runs ok when full and it stops when the paint is not flowing out of the feedneck

so the questions are

1. Is there anything i can do to test to make sure it fully operational
2. How do i fit a rip drive to it (is it a big job). It already has the hole in the shells (empire ones) but i can see blue raceway above that thru the hole
3. Is it worth upgrading the standard board to a V35, angry or reloader

Cheers

(This is gonna sound dirty now)

Put your finger in the hole (feed) and wangle your finger to break the beam on the eyes - if it pulse spins then your eyes are ok - if not open up, clean eyes, if still no joy replace.

Other thing it could be is your drivecone - these go fairly often, take the drive cone off and see if the tab is in tact - if not replace - this sounds the most obvious as it spins ok until theres force on the drivecone...

To be honest, halo boards in general are poo, didn't like Z code, angry or V35.... eithEr go for the predator,WAS board etc... or have it reloader-ed:)

Depending how technical you are depends how easy you'll find fitting a Rip drive, if there hasnt been one fitted in the past you'll need a drill bit

Completely Dismantle the Drivecone assembly, gears and remove all clips off original shaft, Take replace shaft with New long one, take bearing our of race way and force drill bit through plastic, re assemble Halo and reload drive cone, Clip Ridrive knob (call it what u will) on long shaft

If you can get a copy of the Rip drive step by step installation instructions that come with a Oddessy drive kit, then it's a good way to learn about your halo.

But, you have to be fairly technical minded, and like Scars says you have to drill a hole through the base of the cup section. Easy, but only if your any good at those things.

Ok i have tested everything that was suggested. The eyes seem ok and the cone seems in good nick (ie nothing wrong withit)

I have decieded to take no chances though and get the reloader board (sod it, its only money :))

looking at Fat Bobs Site, do i need the reloader B upgrade kit or the sound board only

also on the rip drive, so i need the reloader B rip gear or the halo b rip drive upgrade kit

Just wanna make sure i buy the right stuff

Cheers
