I can imagin how messy a halo would be if the drive cone snaped and broke all ya balls but is it realy worth paying £20 for a stronger cone ? How offen do the standard cones break ?

cheers

Surely they are only going to break if you are diving/sliding about and you gat is taking a pounding (that rules you out Russ ;) )

Ive heard some nasty things about those metal shocktech cones, but still if you can get it to work its one less thing that can break.

My cone broke a fin once, but it wasn't really a HUGE deal. I just thought in the long run a Shocktech cone/rip drive would save me money and time. So bought one. I'm also planning on doing some custom milling to it when I go back to Texas to make it even lighter. I would recomend this ST drive cone.

Myself and every one of my teammates have broken off the plastic tab under our drive cones. Some people fix them by putting in a tiny screw and others buy an aftermarket drive cone. I put a critical drive cone in mine and have been very happy with it although it is far more expensive than a tiny screw. I really don't understand why there isn't a small piece of metal molded in there to begin with since this has been a problem since the beginning.
