This question must have been asked 1000's of times. Which hopper is better??. I have just bought an eclipse ego and am needing a slightly better hopper than the vl revolution i have at the mo. I do like to be a bit of a techie with my kit, but dont want something that is gunna require loadsa fiddling with, I also want something with as low a profile as possible.

Any suggestions as to what hopper i should get? Please help me.

Well, I'll list some of the pros and cons of each (I might miss out a few but hey...)

Halo
Pros:
• Fast - not sure how fast, but you wont out-shoot it
All I can think of
Cons:
• Heavier
• Slightly more fiddly
• If you get a break it can be bit of a bugger

Egg

Pros:
• Less fiddly
• 15-19 bps (depending on board)

Cons:
• Tend to out balance your marker a little (depends on marker)
• Battery door tends to break, which is a pain in the ass and you have to resort to tape.

I'm currently using a Reloader B (Like Halo but sound activated) - no problems with it so far :)

Anyway, some more people will probably add some more tech stuff in, but I aint too good when it comes to hoppers and all.
Hope it helps anyway mate.

If you have access to free replacement parts, Evolutions are pretty nice. The fact that they feed more slowly than Halos is off set by the greater capacity, in my opinion, and the more ergonomic design (again, my opinion). Since the plastic is brittle and thin in the places where a lot of the stress is applied to them, including the battery doors and the tabs they latch to, Evolutions break a lot.

Halos are faster. I am a big fan of the sound activated Halos released by Empire, although a Halo w/ an Angry or Cheetah board would suit me as well. They are less convenient to feed while shooting, they have a smaller capacity, which is too close to the amount of paint in a pod, and if you break paint, they are a pain to clean. I still think that they are far superior to Evolutions.

Reloader B no question.
Actual halos always gave me problems with damn flashy blinky red lighty even with clean eyes and using it correctly.
Ive since bought a reloader B and never had a problem.
I feel that it sits on my marker in the best position as the egg is too in your face, mega fast kept up with my viking on 24bps nxl full auto yesterday, they dont fall apart and need tonnes of sticky tape wrapped around them, simple to use and just leave on all day and they look pimp.

Everyone moans about the batteries, but thats coz half of them use naff old ones or rechargables.
A set of 6 duracells every few quid is an extra £3 and gives you better performance than anything else.
Everyone also moans about them being impossible to take apart and put together. Sunday I had 3 of them apart to give a clean and check over and back together within half an hour.

Best loaders out, why do you think they're impossible to get a hold of at the moment.

I had initially a bad time with halos - mainly for finding parts, drive cones breaking etc, I then went back to an egg............

Speed wise there is no competition - halos are jus crazy compared

Eggs now seem bulky and slow - but apart from broken battery doors and lids, are more reliable.

Think about your setup and then decide whether saving the £40 and buying an egg is worth it

cheers dudes. What about these weirdo loaders like the warp feed and q loader? they any good??
You will find warp feed proponents out there, but they are not in common use and for good reason. They add a lot of weight, they change the geometry of the gun enough that you need to learn new habits with regard to your playing posture, and they are limiting in terms of playing both sides of a bunker.

Q-loaders show more promise, or at least their faults are not as well known yet. They have a faster feed rate than Halos or Eggs, they need no batteries, and they can be configured to have a pretty small profile with a few different mounting options. Also, they only hold 100 balls per pod, I don't see how you could maintain a stream of paint while loading, and the pods are expensive. For a back player, I just don't see how it would work.

Plus they still require the use of a loader ;)

In an egg the center of gravity isnt over the feed neck , so no matter how tight u screw it in it will swirl all over the place , where as on the halo the center of gravity is . plus u can slop a v35 in a halo and make it go fast as fook
