Halo B question

As some of us experience paint being chrused in our halo's due to over tensioned drive cone spring pressure being a bit too brutal...

If you were to put paint the hopper put a bit of tape of the feedneck ...turn 0n the hopper on let it tension the drive cone spring up & then simply turn off the hopper, leave it for a day or so....

Would this potentially stretch the drive cone spring slighty & therefore reducing the force of the paint ? ultimatly putting less pressure on the stack ?

Your thoughts are appreciated.

ive also hear if you put a grease like Dow 33 or similar, on your drive belts, its also reduces the force, cos the belt obviously slips.
