Well, just been getting all the scratched paint off my air/co2 bottle, and found that its actually a half fibre wrap bottle how about that? This should still be ok on CO2 right guys? How many years in between tests? Like 10 as for a co2 bottle?
Ta,
Well as its an air bottle it should have thicker walls than a CO2 bottle shouldnt it? And as it's basically being used for CO2 ONLY then doesn't it just need to be tested as a CO2 bottle? Also, don't Luxfer bottles have a 5yr?
for the specs on bottle testing as some peope have gone to a lot of trouble to get the correct up-to-date information as so can tell you when it next needs testing (from date of manufacture)
then as TOOLE said you need to get it tested to the specs that are laid out to that bottle (no matter what gas you have been filling it with)
you don't MOT a car every 2 years just coz you do less mileage do you ???
Well that one says half wrap is 5 years.. that'll do me I guess - might as well just go to a Co2 bottle afterwards then... are they the same thread into the valve or reg?
There's another issue with using Full or Half-Wrap Bottles for CO2
When the metal cylinder inside contracts because of the extreme cold it eventually becomes separated from the wrap. This is not good for the structural strength of the bottle
Get yourself a 2nd hand max flo set up for air and start using air, you'll see a big difference ! No more cold hands !
If you advertise on the boards someone might have the right 'bits' you need to change the max flo from co2 to air, I believe its a new cradle you will need, dont bother with Smart parts as they will quote you around £130 !
Cold hands? You sure you don't mean a SPYDER - no gas through grip on this. Anyway I was told that shockers on air are awful, unless you have like a 1.5ltr bottle or 4500.
By the way have SAAC moved away from Scotch Corner now?
