There are many ways to get rid of weeds. You can dig them up, spray them, cut them to pieces or burn them.

But noxious weed eradicator Trevor Thompson prefers to shoot them.

Displaying Kiwi ingenuity, Conservation Department employee Mr Thompson is having great success shooting inaccessible pest plants on Mana Island using a paintball gun.

Something a bit different for the paintball world ... anyone else got any random assed ways of using paintball gear?

There is a guy in our team called Scott who uses his gun to stand in the deadbox with.

With a good aim, he can shoot boxthorn plants 25 to 40 metres away. It takes about 10 shots to cover each plant and three weeks for the plants to die.

...if he had a good gun, he could increase that accuracy! Haha.

a guy came down my local site few months back and bought a tippman 98 off the owner,(i had nothing to do with this as i wud not condone it). he was going to put malteser size balls in it and use it to scare off birds.i.e pigeons, pheasents, swans, etc etc.

Hypodermic needle p'haps? I wondering what other fun stuff you could replace the paint with. Sulfuric acid, fluff (marshmallow spread, then all the balls would stick to their target...but the recipient would also be coated in sticky white spread....yummmm).

Scott also uses his paintball kit to justify going onto a paintball forum so he can make false accusations.
