Guns, guns, guns ... (advice needed!!!)

Ok here's where it's at:

A guy on my team will sell me his Stock 2k Angel with a new battery, board, and bolt for $500

I could buy a Stock 2k2 Angel NEW for about $800

I could Buy a Matrix ... Gass efficience is not quite where I like it
as I like playing with a 68/4500 over an 88 ...

I could buy an a elctro kit for my 'cocker for about 3 bills. Advantage here in that I'm already used to shooting my cocker, gass efficiency is good etc.

I could wait for the E-Blade to come out for the cocker.

or

I could save my money and buy something a bi more expensive like an ir3 or an emag extreme.

I played with the stock 2k angel all day yesterday and I liked it alot, I thought it was rippin' even tho I couldn't shoot it over 12bps. Partly due to revvy problems and partly due to me not being used to an electro trigger.

I don't feel that I need anything faster than 11ish bps per-se. I'm playing in that back now ... I kinda miss shooting everyone out, but I'm having fun with it ... and the fact that we have a partial paint sponsorship ...

I've played games with all of these types of 'guns, except for the e-blade, and I liked them all, this is what I've narrowed it down to. (I dont' really care for timmy's)

I'm basicly just asking for pros/cons/opnions. Sell me on a 'gun ok?

Since no one else will venture an opinion

and I'm not shy.
Skip the Angels if you're playing consistently in the back. I don't think they give suitably accurate groupings at longer ranges to be worthwhile. (And I owned an Angel for three years and while I enjoyed everything else about it for tourney play it just wasn't right--for the back)
Like the Matrix very much but an 88 and the latest mods for efficiency a must and even then you're unlikely to do better than 12 pods and a hopper tops.
Can't really comment on latest AGD offerings tho if they shoot like mags of the past not my cup of tea.
Real question is how much do you like your cocker? If that's what you're really most comfortable with why not go E-blade? I'm gonna. I've got nothing against Race but considering the apparent price distinction and Eclipse boyz past offerings is it really a choice? Latest Centerflag version is supposed to be quite good too.
If you must try something new and different and can get past the ho-hum looks the AKA guns are very good, Excal and Viking, but pricey.
Well, that should add to your confusion.:)

Thanks for the advice, what are you currently shooting?

I was thinking about getting one of those Nitro Duck 90ci 5yr tanks and slapping it on my current reg. I think I could get by with 12 pods, I'll just go a little easier on the long strings ... I'm shooting 5-6pods in a 10min 5man game when they actually go that long. So as long as I'm not stuck in a 15min stalemate game I think I'd be ok ... and even then I think I can slow it down a bit to conseve my last precious pods.

For 10-man I was planing on playing with a 9pack and a football. Starting in the back and pushing up as the oppertunity arises. I am after all a front player at heart. Or because our other 5-man squad is heavier on back players than us I was going to play mid with a 5pack and a football.

So by this I should be fine with the 90 and the matrix, eh?

thanks for the reply Baca

cocker or Excal

If you're going to play a mid in 10-man carry the 9 particularly if you're likely to be an early phase of the game sweet spotter or near back line gun. You're much better off not worrying about your paint consumption and shooting more than you think you need to.
Not a big fan of footballs but otherwise you should manage fine with Matrix/90 on 9 pods and hopper but that's pretty close to the limit.

Ok, now I'm hearing not so good stuff about the Matrix ...
wouldnt recommend matrix - few issues

1) original manufacturer no longer exists - period
2) great gun once its zeroed in - you HAVE to get it to that point
3) its actually a gas hog until you do the max upgrades (know 3 people w/matrixs same story on all)

DO recommend the following electros

1) Excalibur from AKALMP products - solid stable and rock steady - not as fast as other electros but it never fails and has no obvious weak points. Neil has one if you want to check one out

2) Angel IR3 - the recent angels are much more robust than earlier ones

3) if money is no object - the RACE gun kit for the cocker =P

Ive heard good things about the new GZ Intimidators and bad things about most impulses

Ryan
As says a guy on my team via email ... I Don't really like the way Timmy's 'feel' but the GZ is the best version I've had the opertunity to put paint thru at the firing range.

Money is an Object.

Please note my original statement regarding Matrix and efficiency.:)
Check out Matrix questions you have at Matrix Center website.
I already recommended Excal but base gun is around $1200. Viking is quite similar in result despite being an open bolt design and closer to $800. AKA is also working on software that will allow owner to set rate of fire instead of being limited to 13 bps. (The reason AKA markers are nearly foolproof is all operational settings are programmed with no means of optional or external changes--ie: dwell, etc.)
Still think you're better off with e-blade for cocker primarily as an issue of price. Race works great but I fully expect e-blade to do same--pre-production ones at IAO were awesome and good looking. (Although the kids at Pro Paintball were selling the last stocks of the original Race grips at reduced price.)
Whatever you end up with you have to be comfortable with it.
