OK, this is 1 of the stupidest questions I've ever asked, but, what the hell is an equivalent of the gun oil we use? The nearest PB shop is like 5 miles away from me, and i cant get my ass to the store, so when i need it, im fu****! So, any1 got a good idea what a good product i could like pick up @ a hardware store? This is dumb, but, hey, thats y we have these forums. Thx,
PZ

5 miles?! I hope that's a typo...I'm about 6 miles away from my school ;)

Anyway, the lube you use depends a bit on your gun. Of the top of my head, I believe that Angels and AKA guns demand their own special lubes, due to their seals and solenoid. Smart Parts guns want a grease called Dow 33 or "Shocker Lube" which comes in what looks like an oversized toothpaste tube.

If you have a blowback, then you can easily get light machine oil (like for sewing machines) or 3-in-1 oil at the hardware store. Stay away from WD-40 or actual gun (as in firearm) oils, though, as they'll eat up the seals in your marker. Something that we use at my site on the Tippmanns is bicycle oil, which is a kinda thickish green teflon oil. Seems to work fine, but to be honest I'd stick with 3-in-1.

If you do have a marker that needs its own specialised oil, I'd suggest you just pick up enough to last you between trips to the shop...never hurts to have extra oil :)

stick with silicon based oils, don't use hydrocarbon based oils as they destroy seals. Jon s, i think 3 in 1 is also a hydrocarbon based oil
Most shops will post products to you, so send a postal order for the value, and then you don't need to travel.

well

my shop told me not to use anything but PMI gun oil on my piranha, he said any other oil will ruin it, wd 40 will ruin a gun quicker than it takes to put it on, so will anything else that not paintball oil
