Gun Barrell Sizes

I have had a M98 custom for about 2 years. i love the gun and have no problem with the stock barell. Im just wondering what the difference is between a 12 inch barrell and a 18 inch barell? besides the length what does a longer barrell offer? longer distance shooting? more accuracy?

yup you got it in one
it's supposed to give you more accuracy and i think it's supposed to give you more distance but not sure.

to quote dave youngblood . "weve never been able to prove that a barrel over 12 inches will increase accuracy ." Pretty much there no proof that a longer barrel is more accurate . in fact theres a fair bit of proof that 12inches to 18 inches shoot the same . The increase in accuracy is really more of a thing thats in your mind also some people use the front of teh barrel for aiming .
