Hi all, I've just got myself a myth reg. Normally I've always been told not to loctite my reg into my air bottle, it was like a big no no, so I never have, and also only tighten as much as possible by hand. However, reading the myth installation instructions, it says put 242 loctite on the bottom 4 threads and screw in, then tighten with a torque wrench somehow. My question is, do I have to do this? Or can I just leave it screwed in by hand with no loctite as per usual?

Charlie.

if you loctite it in then obviously removal at any given needed point becomes a lot of greif! eg, retesting, or going abroad!!

i have a myth reg on one of my bottles, and not loctited! neither of my bottles are!

dont worry about it, the pressure from there air won't let the reg come loose when filled. If that was your worry.By this when you go abroad you will be able to remove the reg by hand therefore allowed to bring it on the plane,or remove it when needed.I to have a myth reg on my tank and it doesnt come loose as ,essx, said

I too am the same as not putting any on mine also and it`s fine, as stated before, when there`s air in it, it does hold...........Bluey

yeah thanks guys, that's what I've always gone with, that the pressure keeps it in place, just wasn't sure if the myth was different due to those grooves on the side. If not loctiting it works for you all, then it's fine with me.

Ta muchly :D

Those grooves are all well and good but the air doesn't exactly bleed out of those groves, it can blast out of those grooves. We've had a bottle unscrew from the reg when someone was taking it off the gun with over 1k of pressure still in it.

It won't go flying around but it will scare the $*** out of you :)

PLaces like HPAC will remove or attach a reg properly for about £5
