greasing fillnipple oring, safe?

Is it safe to use Dow 33?
I only ask this because of the whole putting oil in your tank and dieing thing

Minimal amount of grease i think will be fine but then again i don't know nuffink

If it aint broke dont fix it!

......Seriously I have never had to grease / replace a fill nipple. As long as you have a cover on it, keep it dry and leave some air in your tank. You will be fine.

I had a little leak probably due to low low tank pressure
so I checked the oring and it was a little pinched so I turned it upside down so that side of the oring wouldnt be the sealing side (if that makes sense)

after consulting various sources I played it safe and left it dry

dow is a grease, not an oil. I do not believe it to be flammable either when misted - which is about as likely as the pope being a liberal.

To be honest paul it will be fine mate, ive did it with mine a good few times. Sometimes i just use spit on the oring to lube it a little.

But if you do die then i didnt write this.
