The long (long long long long) awaited GT5 is finally officially out tomorrow?

Who is picking this up, or has everybody forgotten about it?

I've always been a playstation fanboy and the GT series has had many many hours put into it by me ever since the first one. No doubt i'll be looking to get 100% and gold in all licences just like when I was 15!!!

Most annoying thing for me is I have F1 2010 on xbox 360 and HMV are doing a trade in of £4.99 for GT5 when trading F1 2010 but only for PS3 versions :(
Oh and the fact that I have yet again become addicted to COD and still want to play FM 2011, and work at the same time. Oh and have a gf who is about ready to hide/break gaming equipment!

Anyway.... anybody?

My good friend and neighbour has it (havent had a chance to go round yet :( ) and has had it for a week at least.

He bought a steering wheel and pedals a while ago, and on ebay he purchased a rig that someone had made. Its basically a Reccaro seat with a metal frame with some where to mount the wheel and pedals.

Played GTPrologue using it about a month ago, and its flipping brilliant!

Are there any games like this, but with guns? Like, the cars have sweet-ass guns/rockets, and you can blow people off the road?

That's a game I would buy. Like Crash Team Racing, but bloody.

It’s bad enough that Gran Turismo 5 takes five years to arrive and then makes you wait for up to (and over) a minute every time a new track loads up. Now “extreme traffic congestion” is causing problems for online gamers – single players too, by all accounts.

In short, GT5 has been a runaway success – bigger, perhaps, than even Sony had bargained for. As such, the current server capacity is unable to keep pace with the surging demand for multiplayer races and other online components. Many players are now reporting delays of several minutes when trying to connect.

Unusually, this is affecting single players too, for the simple reason that GT5 goes online to update a number of community features, gameplay menus and various screen displays in ‘GT Mode’.

Needless to say that Sony is very sorry about all of this, and is currently working hard to get things running smoothly once again. The short-term solution is more stark – it’s recommended that you disconnect your PS3 from the internet while playing GT5. In the meantime Sony has also restricted access to the viewing of logs and, in some cases, user profiles and friends lists to help ease congestion.

It’s hardly an ideal start for what is otherwise a brilliant game, is it? But Gran Turismo 5 has the power to sell consoles, as well as millions of copies, so we don’t doubt that the problems will be resolved in double-quick time. So what’s been your experience of the game so far – are you suffering lengthy delays in GT5? If so, let’s hear about them...
