you don't get particularly good or bad paint, you get good and bad batches.

I have shot fantastic tourny paint one month then used the same stuff the month after but from a different batch number and it was rubbish.

I have used rockhard site paint that was all over the place one walkon and then the same stuff but different batch the next that was better than tourny grade stuff.

Your saving grace is that the a1 is very gentle on paint so should shoot about anything paintwise aslong as its set up right.

Personally Proto has always been good and the new Darksports stuff I have tried has been consistantly good.

oh right I will buy a case put it through the gun and I will let you know how I get on ... which one do you recommend is the cheapest one any good or does it have to be one of the expensive ones ? Thank you very much

As a typical trend the more expensive the better, but after time you'll get your own judgement on paint. Extreme (I know we live in Britain, but extreme in the relative sense :p) weather conditions will ruin most paint as well as age.

A test I do is...
Drop it from shoulder height onto a hard surface, if it breaks it's too brittle.
Throw it hard at something, if it bounces or doesn't break it's not brittle enough.
Finally, shoot it, and if it produces the accuracy you're acquainted to with your gun, it shoots well enough.

Paint is not just good brand vs bad brand, storage and age can have a major impact on performance, I have used formula 13 dozens of times from a mix of well known suppliers and it has always been good. I have used those suppliers because I know they look after their paint.

However I have also used top of the range paintballs from various brands that because it was not stored properly was terrible.

buy Proto paint....nuff said
+1 on this.

Every box of proto I have had has never had dimples and always fly straight.

The boxes it comes in seem to be much stronger and thicker than other brands. They put bubble wrap in the bottom and top of the box. I have bought this at different times of the year and havn't got a bad batch yet.
