depends on where you live and if your doing woodsball or sup'air. I think a KOTH is a good place to start but have known people to jump in at NSPL division 4 for sup'air. Not sure about oodsball as haven't played myself, sure tohers will give ideas on that. It all depends on how you feel about your game.
hope this helps.

Where you from? in the north east we have a crackin place to start for newbies. Wednesday nites 3man, they also have their own 5man league which is growing fast.

The great thing is newbies and Div 3 & 4 players play together, you learn well from it and it has a great friendly atmosphere.

Sup air sundays are a brilliant way to start. The staff are really friendly and you get all levels of player there. You'll get alot more playing time there for your money aswell, compared to a tournament. You will learn alot more at one sup air sunday then you will at one tournament, and it will cost half as much.

heading up to NQ for either a newbie day or even a newbie tourny is great fun and a great experience!
the great thing about it is that its for people of the same level but also there are some great staff to help you out aswell.

also there's been a few teams who have experienced NQ newbie tournies and have joined teams.

first wave (recently won KOTH)
evolution
crazy 88's (rip)

plus others!
