Depends if you're looking for a milsim marker or a 'normal' marker that you could use anywhere. I played woodsball for ages with old Matrix markers, ions and latterly an etek1 which I also used for tourny play as well.

I'd say look for a used 05/06 ego as they are reliable,uk company, efficient and very easy to maintain and you'd still have a good amount of change for paint, just because you play woodsball don't limit your choice in markers

Anything that was once though of as high end.

The best gun for the woods is a tournament marker.

Ego is a good choice.

As the other guys have said you can use what you want in the woods.

I play scenario and shoot an Etek........other guys I play with shoot Bob Long's, Ego etc.....

If you don't care about dressing up like GI Joe and using a realistic looking maker then a second hand Ego or Etek would not be a bad choice................I'd choose function over form anyday........get a tourney marker
