Just though I would make my first post and stop trolling round :)

Looking into finally buying my own gear, been playing rental for around 3ish years. But have never been able to afford any gear due to not having a Job.

Any recommendations on guns and gear to buy would be greatly appreciated looking to buy towards the end of the month. Maybe looking to play in the Super5ives when I move to Southampton if I can afford it. I've been looking at the Mini and the Axe both seem pretty good, with maybe a Magna or Halo hopper?

The best bit of advice I got when I asked that very question was to attend your nearest walk on, that way you could check all the different type of kit available to you.

Sup sharpie,

Welcome to the world of tourney paintball.:D

I would recommend getting an etek 3 if you can afford it, its cheap and does the biz on the field.

Hey Sharpie,

I'd advise anything along the lines of a PMR, Etek or Mini for a starter marker,
As for the Magna loader, I have one and so far so good although it does eat through batteries....Like loads :p. I would however advise a second hand dye rotor off the forums for the same price.

Anyway good luck starting out ;)

Welcome to P8ntballer.com .. you'll find the members here a really great bunch in terms of helping you out .. our sport is a bit like a brethren in some senses and maybe that's because of the way some of the outside world regard us .. the truth is, we are a bunch of guys who just like playing 'cowboys and indians' , we don't do anyone or anything any harm.. we just love playing ball and shooting fools ...
Have fun and welcome to our world Sharpie ..

Hi mate.

A really great starting point to get a good feel for all things paintball are the super6 weekends. Saturdays there are tournament clinics, player clinics, differnt activities/games and a whole host of traders, most infact. So you can fondle the equipment and see what it is you actually want. (saves the biggest mistake of having to double buy).

Next one is in July at National Paintball Fields http://www.super6paintball.co.uk/

No such thing as a silly question when your starting out, ask away.
