Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the West Coast (California) tends to be more Cocker Country, with the Midwest tending twards Tippman, and the East Coast tending more twards AGD (AutoMag)(look at where the factories are). Yes, 'Cockers are more universal now but I think you can expect to pay around $400.00 for a vertical fed 'cocker (go Vert. it's much better) in the store. If you want to get a 'cocker already setup and at a good price, one way to go is to hang out at a field (or store, but the stores kinda frown on buying and selling unless they're involved) and just hang out and talk to as many people as possible and tell them that you're looking to buy a 'cocker...if it's at a field, you can test shoot the 'cocker right away. Some stores have a bullitin board where people can post ads for stuff they want to sell...check those out, but don't buy anything unless you test it first. If you buy in a store, many times they'll give you discounts or free passes to local fields and air fills, and of course they'll help you if anything goes wrong with your gun. Walmart is not a place to buy a 'cocker, and only buy paint there if it's fresh...of course at Walmart, they won't allow you to open the case to check the freshness...
Good luck.
