I have been seeing more and more threads were UK teams are including NPPL events in their schedule for next year.

Obviously this is a good thing for the UK scene to get more teams exposed to what many consider a hire quality league.

But what do others think?

Besides the obvious teams such as Nexus, Storm, Ducklings & Tigers, what other teams are planning to take in a NPPL?

Is this strictly for the experience or do UK/Euro teams now feel that to improve the game here and Europes standing do we need to go across the pond and compete at this level?

Obviously Robbo has mentioned many times why Nexus do this, so this is aimed more at the teams now taking the plunge for the first time, what do you think?

Why are they the obvious teams? Storm only played Amsterdam, Toulouse and Campaign in the Millennium Series. And i dont think that the Tigers have ever played in the States before.

The States is the place to play, the standard is far higher and the teams far better at all levels. It makes sense to play the best if you can, and so teams such as the obvious teams like Ton Ton, Nexus, Russian Legion, Joy Division have improved greatly this year from playing in the States over the Millennium Series.

Apologies no offence meant there, my research or distinct lack of it not up to sratch!

My point might have been better made if I had said Pro teams who only ever seemed to be the ones who played the NPPL, or that I heard of anyway, and this looks about to change.

It's all good though, and I just wondered what teams taking the plunge hoped to get out of it and would we now be seeing a regular wave of teams taking on the Americans.

I think that we will see a lot more of the Euro teams like Legion, Joy, Ducks, Nexus, Shockwave, Ton Ton playing in the States as it does more to improve your game than playing in Europe does. Playing in the MS you often get 4 or so easy games when you play pro against Am B teams who are not hard to break down, whereas when i was in Miami in the NPPL even when we played the novice teams we had to work hard to dig them out. Our hardest game of the event was against an Am team called Crush, who were very good, we won the game but it was the hardest of the event, and we also played Strange, Russian Legion,Dynasty, Rage, Naughty Dogs and Farside

Tigers HAVE played stateside not alot and definately not enough - but we're are geared up and ready for 2004. Sadly it may mean missing out more domestic tournies of which we are a great supporter.

Not dissing at all but when did the Tigers play stateside and at what event? Pete and Steve always go to the World Cup but in the last 6 years at this event I have yet to see them play. Millenium of course they play....just asking, nothing more
