GHTP2 already in development for ps2&xbox

WXP's Patrick Moyniham has revealed that a sequel to last year's Greg Hastings' Tournament Paintball is already in development. At the WXP message board, Patrick announced:


Currently there is no official announcement of a sequel for GHTP. However, this does not mean we aren't working on it!

Starting January 3rd 2005, WXP is back in the development studio planning features for the next game in the GHTP series.

We hope to release both and Xbox and a PS2 versions of the sequel, assuming our publishing a porting negotiations go smoothly.

At this point there is no release date, publisher, feature set, or any other information to relay.
All I can say is that thanks to you guys, GHTP has been a success and has given us the confidence to move forward with the next game as our next project here at WXP.

Should be quite easy to port GHTP from the Xbox to the PC. Might see it soon i recon what with the success on the XBox.

They probably figured the majority of people using the game will be the type of people who picked up an Xbox or PS2 at their local Wal Mart, not hardcore PC gamers. That having been said, the Xbox is as much a PC as a PC is, so porting wouldn't be that hard, I wouldn't think.

Anyhow, a sequel would be awesome. They need to include more markers and fewer woods fields though. Oh, and allow you play multiplayer with more than one user per Xbox, because that really blows.

digital paintball is a mod for half life and its feckin great loads of peeps play it, and its very addictive.
they are working on the next version which looks cool as fcuk!!

I don't know if you've played GHTP, but the gameplay is entirely different than just some first person shooter modified for paintball. It's actually designed specifically as a paintball game, and it's infinitely superior. It's not like you can't play GHTP online, there's Live, System Link, and XLink Kai for online Xbox gameplay.
