No get a qualified person to do it ! Legally responcible for your bottles now. You tamper with them and put back together and with out qualification your liable.

hot water, vice and a strap wrench.

or

If its really tight you gotta give it a "shock" kick. Basically get a vice grip then attach it to you fill nipple with a buffer in between the jaws so stop scraping.
Then while holding the bottle in two hands smack the vice grip off a wall/table/persons head so that it gives the reg a good "kick" in the anticlock wise direction...after that simple unscrewing will do it.

Yes I know this is crude but it works...especially if u got big non sweaty hands.

When putting it back on, mearly tighten it up by hand but check the reg oring for damage.

When it is then filled back up the threads will lock and it will be uber impossible for the reg to be disconnected from the bottle while the bottle is under pressure.

I have heard some players have attatched an ASA to the bottle ,and leaving the on/off screw screwed in for the purpose of air travel.

Thus the bottle will be under no pressure when up in high altittudes.

But if you do decide to have someone or yourself to take the reg off, its easy to put back on/off again without the locktite. Becareful when not using locktite on the threads, even low pressure at say 400/500 psi, its still easy to screw the bottle off the reg when trying to take tank off the marker.

It's not just the pressure problem for airline travel. There's also the chance the bottle could be full of an illegal substance, or even an explosive. The bottle must be open for inspection.
