Geo Velocity Problem

Hi,

I’m new to the sport, and recently bought a geo 1 with GR-2 and ST kit already installed on this forum. Arrived as expected working fine, chrono at 275 fps (+/- 4 or 5). I changed this to use it for reball sessions shooting at 200 fps for a couple of weeks.

Works perfectly at low velocity (200 fps) but now will not go above 235 fps. Have stripped and cleaned it, changed all o-rings even though they seemed fine and still having the same problem. When shooting the solenoid is venting/ “leaking” a noticeable amount of air through the grip frame, but only releases air when firing so don’t think it is a solenoid problem, but not 100% sure.

Was wondering if you have come across this before and could help me get my marker back up and running to use at both 200 fps and 275 fps?

Cheers

Scott

Not sure why it wont go above 235fps...something to do with the noid? Have you looked at the noid?
The 'leaking' from the grip frame that you talk about when the marker is shot is perfectly normal, its just the noid venting excess air that is not needed (you feel it more than other markers due to the postition of the noid ;))

...A.Kaye.. is correct about the Solenoid Venting in the grip frame, trigger area

as for the Vlocity issue its probably best if you give us a call and speak to one of our technicians

Cheers mate. I had a brief look at the noid and everything seemed fine. Didn't want to take it apart cause would be a bit out my depth, but no obvious issues. Any ideas on what would be wrong with the noid itself? thanks for the help buddy

Okay, first things first, when setting up your Geo to shoot reballs are you using the Velocity Reducers (black delrin parts that slot around the prop shaft to reduce thevolume in the firing chamber)?

If not, you should be :)

No problem at all - you only learn by asking and we're here to help :)

Try the marker out with and without the velocity reducers and let us know how you get on.
