Geddon leak at 2000psi

Right, a team mate has recently bought a 4500 adjustable geddon which leaks when we fill it to about 2000psi

At this point the piston part inside the reg (the place where you adjust velocity) starts to leak the air (which subsides if we dry fire the marker 2/3 times) and pushes out the front of the reg.

So, what's the crack? What's up with it and how do we fix it?

Thanks in advance - Ben

IF you carry on filling /dry firing does it continue to leak or does it stop?
Possibly the reg over pressurising. The dry firing relieves the pressure and drops it to where it should be, and then is able to hold it.

If we dry fire it stops leaking but as soon as we try to fill again it starts to leak. If we try continually dry firing whilst still gradually filling it still leaks. So it is as if there is a 2000psi limit on the amount of pressure it can take.

Pull it apart, and give it a good cleaning, then re-coat everything with Dow 33.
Does the output gauge stay steady, or does it climb when the leak starts?
If the out put is steady, then the piston o-rings are dry/damaged. If the out put climbs as you fill it, then the reg seat is not sealing properly, and needs to be replaced.
Try turning the reg off, then filling it. If you see any pressure build up in the reg when the adjuster is all the way off, then it's the reg seat.

vantrepes/rayko - I thiink it must be that as it climbs when filling even though the output pressure is all the way out. What does the reg seat look like? I think we have a few spares for it...

It's a hard almost clear white disk like a mag reg seat, or a cocker cocking rod bumper. You will have to unscrew the jam nut in the tank part of the reg to get to it. The manual is on the AA site, and covers how to do it.
