I am a new player, and after a couple of matches I am looking to purcahse my own gear. This is what I have listed:

Code:
JT 3.5 Electronic semi-automatic paintball marker

VL Revolution Hopper Black

JT Spectra Pro Shield Thermal Mask

20oz Co2 Bottle

Pin Valve

Anti-Syphon Tube

3 Pot Battle Pack

3 100 Shot Pots

300 Paintballs

Barrel Sock

Battle Swab Cleaner

[b]Price: £174.95
[/b]

If anyone thinks I should get something different for any part of this, like the marker or googles, please say.

for the price that isnt a bad deal, if thats what your budget limits you to i would take it on that sheer fact.

if you can afford a little more i would advise you look for something with a little more performance. - the JT is just a blowback marker - there are little which can be done to improve performance.

Also with the pre owned market being rock bottom - take a look on the classifieds section - you might find better for less

Thanks for that, that is the very end of my budget. I was originally looking at a Silver Bullet, with the rest of the package the same, for £119. But this package was removed, so I stretched my budget slightly more (I am only 15, with no job) to this.

Can you suggest any packages for around this price that would be better suited, or anywhere else I look?

If you put up on clasifieds your budget im sure some of our "friendly" members might dig deep and see whats lurking in their kit bags

for new thats a very good deal but you may find your marker is no better than what can be found at your site on the rental rack

but JT Spectra's are just the hard faced version of what most tourni ballers wear, and revi's are very popular and widely used

If you sail through the forums you will find out a feast of knowledge - Read PBUK for details on the uk tournament scene and use pbreview.com for specs on equipment.

Anything you've learnt in your time playing paintball. I'm playing it with a friend, and hoping to get a job martialling at our site.

My friend and I are contesting eacother to see hoq quicklly we can reload a hopper, snap shoot a target 5 times and then clean it.

Over and over and over again.

We're also drilling snap-shooting by shooting, dropping the barrel and then bringing it back up, again (rinse and repeat X infinity.)

But I just want to get an epxansive knowledge of paintballing just for fun.

Ok thanks for that so far, I see your point on dropping the barrel, I adapted it from a drill using a pump powered gun. I don't want to invest in a pump gun for no reason.

The main thing behind this was that with a pump everytime you pumped you lost your aim, so you learn to aim without taking much time at all. So maybe just miming to pump might work.

Also, someone has offered the following for £100-£130:

JT Excellerator 6.0 with hopper and 20 oz co2.

I have enquired as to what type of hopper it is, but what do you guys think?
