Sounds like an Airgun designs Warp Feed. It keeps a lower profile for the marker with the hopper below the sight level of the marker. It's about £130 dunno what that is in $ guess it's around $200 with a WAG at the interest rate.

The ratchet is actually two plastic disks that take the paint from the hoppers drop and forces it up the feed tube to the breech.

I think they're cool but lots of people abuse me for it:(

I guess I'm ahead of my time:p

also because it "forces the paint into the breach" it allows the marker to be fired upside-down, and sideways, because it will continue to feed the balls regarless of gravity.

It also has one of the highest feed rates on the market. making it almost impossible to outrun with most markers.

biggest drawbacks?
Weight - it makes the marker side heavy
Cost - its expensive, and you still have to buy a revvy or similar to go ontop of "the box"
Breaks - if a ball breaks in the mechanism, then its an absolute nightmare to clean.
Power - Yet another set of batteries to worry about.

check ot more info here at the air gun designs homepage.

Just the thing for when the weight of the thing on the side of your gun finally gets too much for you, and you keel over ;)

And remember that it can only feed fast for a few balls at a time, overall it's still limited by the feed rate of the hopper feeding it -- after firing 16bps for a while the warp feed will be empty while the hopper is trying to catch up. Oh, and you can't use the last few rounds in the hose when you've run out of paint in the hopper.
