Fundraising help

Right guys,..

My P.E teacher from my school is running the London Marathon this year to raise money for Spinal Injuries charity. And he has been a great asset to my sport life in and out of school and helped me achieve alot in my last five years at secondary. But that is not the only reason i wish to help raise funds for him, i myself was born with a spinal injury and had a slight curved back and got alot of back aches etc. but has got better as the years have gone on and is starting to come back now unfortunatly:eek:

So please if any of you have any ideas on how i can raise funds for this good cause please tell me,...

Thanks,

Jordan

hey, I'm doing duke of edinburgh gold this year and i need to raise some money as well. the only ones i came up with was

1. Running a 5 a side indoor football match for the lower years in my school (could charge 50p to play)
2. Do paintball in boxies (don't think IL be doing that)
3. you could try and talk to your headteacher and arrange a "non uniform day" you have to pay 50p to do it...
4. its a knockout competition :D:D

if all else fails ...bag pack in asda or somwere

hope that help mate:rolleyes:

I'm currently collecting towards my target of £1000 for a charity project I am going over to Tanzania, Africa to help with (Still need all the help I can get so if you have a few pennies spare drop me a pm :p ).

But on the fundraising side I have came up with/done the following:

- Raffle at work, £1 a strip, managed to get pair of cup final tickets, ipod shuffle and loads of wine, choccies donated by work colleagues (maybe something similar round your mates/team/school??)
- Write to local shops and tell them what you/P.E teacher is doing - explain how it is a worthwhile cause. (Businesses can claim tax back on all donations given!) They might even give you stuff for the raffle if you decide on that.
- Charity auction - Restaurants have gave me a meal for two which I auctioned in the past, sports shops/local football or rugby shops might give you shirts, signed balls etc.
- Paintball - go talk to your local site manager and see if you can have a £1 a shot 1 on 1 with the rentals, put a small prize up for anyone who can beat you. Up the 1 on 1 to 2/3/4 on 1 as you see fit. 200 - 400 customer potentially = £200 - £400!!
- Press are a great resource too ;)
- most importantly.... remeber if you dont ask you dont get, afterall the worst they can say is no.

Hope this helps pal, any questions drop me a line.
