just wondering when using an insert, does the ball have to slip all the way through (when testing it) or does it have to stop inside the insert??

if its stops does this decrease accuracy. was using inserts yesterday on my new kit and on some inserts the balls were shooting all over the place lol

cheers

Matt

ps never used a freak kit or inserts before so not sure what im doing lol

you should be able to blow the ball through with little effort but not have the ball rolling through, usualy the best insert i find to use is where the ball stops when you put it in and then you blow it lightly and it goes through

^^ Bingo. The "blow test" *poetic pause for juvenille snickering* is the easiest way to fit paintballs with the correct barrel. You should be able to blow the ball through the insert relatively easily. It should not roll through the insert on it's own, and you should not turn blue trying to get it through.

this is what u have to do trust me. like i put the inserts in the order of biggest to smallest. so like i can actually do the sizing in order. anyway then i take the back and unscrew the front so it is a little bit. i put the biggest bore in first. then work down unitl they stop rolling down. then i put one in and push with my finger about 3 inches in and blow. then when i think that it is good i put the front onto the back and blow the same ball through. if it hurts my hand then it is the best bore size.

i have never actually broken a ball with the way i bore up the balls. but most people say that i have the balls too tight to the bore insert. ohh yeah put the insert in the back of the freak back if that makes sense. like it fits all the way and then some. i only put it from the back to the front. i think that it works best.

well hope this has been helpful.

Cheers

And all the canned goods in your kitchen are aligned by size and/or alphabetically too, right?;)

yeah i got the bore size(s) right and all. when i tried the blow technique on the day i tested the kit, i went from biggest to smallest. the first bore i came across the i had to blow down was the one i used. that was when the balls went flying around the place.

so i used the next smallest and it was ok but 3 or 4 out of half a hopper flew around the place lol. next size just smegged now and again, and thats when i got confused,

yeah its probably to do with the balls being badly made or something (was using marbaliser). thing is i see people using freaks and having 0 problems at all.

could it be dwell, as for some reason i have to set mine to about 20 to not smegg in the first place

what i have found myself doing is just using the .693 insert for all paint or if that ends up being too small then i use .695, my theory is if the bore is bigger it is going to be more accurate than if i smegged in the barrel so i just roll with it
