fps too low?

I have a spyder clone, when playin a few weekends ago i took it to the chrono for its first shoot, yet i cud only get 210 max fps out of it, even when the velocity adjuster was fully screwed in. Infact the adjuster didnt seem to make any difference at all.

Could this be a weak spring? i know a spyder spring kit isnt much at say planet but i didnt really wanna order them if that isnt the prob.

God know what im gonna be like trouble shooting with my cocker if i cant even figure out spyder probs

Long barel, lots of porting and bad paint fit will reduce your velocity...if your on c02 then the cold doesnt help either...does the velocity adjustaer work or have you lost the little bit that flies out when you unscrew it?!

paint wasnt exactly sweet fit, 12inch barrel (sp progressive) and it was blo*dy cold, so all of the above i spose.

the velocity adjuster is all in order, did you mean the grub screw ?

well...on a JT6 i looked at....theres like a piston infront of the grub scrw that pushes against the spring, if its gone, then it wont work....try it on someones air....
What cocker you got?

Are you running it on co2? that could be it, with the cold, like Skeet said.

If you dont want to get a spring kit, you can use washers as shims...although it might be tricky to get 70 fps that way. You could also check out the bolt, if it has a venturi in it that could be restricting the flow un-necessarily...get that sucker out and you should get some more fps.

To be honest, if those dont work it'd be best to get the springs, as that is the main force in powering your marker

cheers for the advice mate, ill have to take it apart have a look. pretty sure all parts are there, when i stripped it i was careful not to lose any of the little blighters.

Just bought a right feed WGP cocker second hand obv, shud come about weds.

Gettin preset air for the cocker so ill sling it on the erex and see what effect that has.

Dont know what i want to do to it just yet, dont know anything about the bloody things. Someones getting the timings checked out for me tho.
