Not sure where this is suppose to be, i think this is the right place :)

What do you guys use for foodwear?

I dont really want to get the JT/Dye Cleats... so i'm looking else where

i know on Grass it would most likely be some kid of football boots that are studded/blades/moulds etc...

But i'm looking for some footwear to be used on Astro turf, grass, and any other terrain... i need a shoe/trainer/what ever that would provide alot of grip on the sole of the shoe. Because me being a front player i need to catch my grip on the floor to be able to run faster without slipping around.

So guys, tell me what is a good option to buy, nothing too pricey like the david beckhams latests boot that costs £150 or what ever....

Most of Basic are using saloman fell running trainers this season, in my personal opinion they've been perfect for every surface we've played on sand, grass (wet and dry) and astro.

American Football cleats are ideal - they are usually moulded blade-type soles which give good grip on grass or astro. If you know anyone who is visiting the US get them to pick up a pair. For some reason cleats that cost $30 in the US retail for about £60 here

What are the rules about studs, such as football boots?

I wear my rugby boots (Preditor Pulse whatevers) but i was told they were illegal as they dont really fall under studs, and they dont really fall under blades...

But really most 'ball "cleats" are just trainers with loads of grip, so you could try and just get a pair of ACG (all condition geared) trainers, which would mean that u could wear them outside of paintball.

athletic spikes aren't allowed at all (you'd ruin them anyway!)

i think that there are few rules apart from that...except that in the PA you arent allowed metal/metal tipped studs/blades.
To my knowledge, neither the Masters nor Bullies have any footwear rules.

just buy a pair of £12s from JB sports off the sale shelf, then buy some plastic studs for £1.50. 'Patrick' boots are really good

I know you arent looking, but the Dye ATC cleats are pretty good...and loads of people wear them outside of paintballing aswell.

but in torrential rain, mud or frost, you can't beat football boots.
NEVER slipped and fell off the break.

astroturf: i felt the new stuff at Campaign and its not too different to grass. can you use football boots on it?
