dive tanks are in their policy under they will not allow on their flights however paintball markers are not and so i assume they don't have a policy on them. Only on the bottles but a bottle open with no reg on is basically a high pressure flask so i cant see a problem myself.

One school of thought is just keep quite and take your chances.

Personally i would call ahead. A lot of people disagree with me but at the end of the day I don't want to get in **** for trying to take something on to a plane that could be misunderstood. People have had to pay money in the past because of this, admittedly it could have been avoided if no one had enquired, but you can't control that so you are taking a risk.

Heston called up easy jet and had no problem, they contacted the checkin desk and advised them to let him through.

I would rather be told that the airline won't let me fly with my marker before i have bought my tickets so that I can try a different airline. Speak to easy jet, mention that you have been told they are happy for people to bring disasembled markers, and ask them to make sure the checkin desk are aware of this policy, even get an eamil or letter off them that you could show the check in desk.

You could also try calling the UKPSF, they might be able to give you some more advice.

Shock Horror! Someone has a different opinion to you.

And i think i gave a pretty balenced reply, said what i though but mentioned that a lot of people disagreed, linked to the last thread so that he could read your points and make his mind up for himself. Better than beligerently (sp?) trying to force my views on people.

There are 3 ways to go about this:
  1. Say nothing, do nothing, just check your bags in. Might work, might not.
  2. Phone the airline and ask politely whether it will be a problem (probably avoid mentioning the G word) and ask if any special arrangements are needed. Might work, might not.
  3. If you have tried (2) and failed, phone them up again. When that doesn't work, try again, and if necessary become abusive. Repeat until airline has a written policy on the issue and staff waiting at check-in to weed out rogue paintballers. Pretty much guaranteed to fail, and to make life difficult for anyone else who ever wants to fly kit on that airline.
