The Wild Geese are pleased to present Flashpoint 4 - PODRAPHENIA on March 25th 2007.

It’s a Bank Holiday weekend in 1964 and two rival factions of disaffected teenagers are looking for trouble. The weekend plans to be riotous and unlike anything the British establishment is used to.

The Mods, with their fishtail parkas, fitted suits, perfect hair and shiny scooters have congregated at the Marquee nightclub. Their leader is ‘Ace Face’ (to be played by Steve ‘Witzy’ Witts of Going Postal) and he has vowed to attack his rivals, The Rockers, in 6 different seaside resorts.

‘The Wild One’ is the leader of The Rockers (to be played by Paul ‘Wilba’ Wilson of RMC). He has heard of Ace Face’s plans and is plotting to meet fire with fire. His gang of Rockers on their noisy Triumph and BSA motorbike’s, wearing black leather jackets and jeans with long greasy hair have met up at the Ace Café ready to rumble in the seaside towns.

The Authorities have spies in both camps and have heard about the plans for chaos that the gangs want to pursue. They have tasked the Police to put down the riots with all force necessary and if possible arrest the gangs’ leaders.

To accomplish this mission the Police have put together a special team known only by a code name: The Wild Geese. They are to be led by the highly decorated Chief Constable Lee ‘The Rottweiler of Justice’ Baker. This crack Police squad, whilst outnumbered, will react swiftly at the first sign of trouble and attempt to keep both sides apart at the seaside resorts. They also hope to enlist the help of the gangs themselves to apprehend the opposing gang leaders.

Whatever the outcome of these battles, it will leave many exhausted and bruised at the end of the weekend, but with a story or two to tell on Monday morning when these young hoodlums return to their normal live.

We have chosen a new and exciting venue for this, the first scenario event of 2007, Bullswood Skirmish in Surrey. Bullswood has varied features and terrain and should prove both enjoyable and testing to play. You will be able to purchase food and drink all day from their on site caterers.

We will have H-Pac in attendance filling to both 3000 and 4500psi; CO2 will also be available. Paint will be BYO but you will be able to purchase on site at reasonable rates. Battlezone will be in attendence with their mobile shop for any last minute goodies or desperately needed spares and tech help.

We will be having a fancy dress competition for the best dressed Mod and Rocker. Also, your unique player ID number will be entered into a ‘raffle’ with prizes provided by MAGNUM Footwear and Battlezone.

Entry to PODRAPHENIA will cost:

£45 per person and paid in FULL by 31st January 2007.
£50 per person and paid in FULL by 28th February 2007.
£55 per person and paid in FULL by 9th March 2007. (This is the last date for entries)

As you can see if you will save money if you pay up early!!

Rental players’ packs are available at an extra £10 to the game fee – i.e. if you want to rent kit and you pay before 5th January the total charge will be £55.

Some important things to note:

There is no camping on site - I have a list of hotels, B&B's and campsites available – please email me for this information. Unfortunately, Lingfield races are being held on the Saturday 24th so I would expect some of this accommodation to be busy - BOOK EARLY! The Crawley/Gatwick area is only 20 - 30 mins drive away so some of you might want to frequent the hotels you used for previous Flashpoint events.

The site car park is a distance of 500 yards from the site itself. Although not far we appreciate it’s difficult to carry all your kit over this distance. We will have a vehicle on site to transfer you, and your kit, from the car park to the site itself. Please ensure you arrive with plenty of time to get parked, transferred, registered and set up before the game briefing starts. Obviously we will operate the transfer at the end of the day. Registration will be open from 12.00 to 17.00 on Saturday 24th for those that can make it.

No explosive devices (flashbangs, paint grenades etc) are to be used on site at any time. Due to the proximity of some housing this is a Council Planning stipulation and we cannot get around it. Smoke grenades are permissible and will be available for purchase on the day.

Please, do not contact Bullswood Skirmish directly for any details of this game; they will not be able to help you. If you have a query, then please contact me directly via this forum or the email below. I will endeavour to answer your question as quickly as possible.

The Players Pack, including entry form and the accommodation list is available for download via the following forum threads:

WalkonZone.com

MILSIMZONE.com (Formerly OpsZone.com)

Or contact me on the following email: michael.rose10@ntlworld.com for it to be sent to you.

We look forward to seeing you and kicking off the 2007 season in style!

Update

Full details of PODRAPHENIA have just been included in the latest issue of PBUK. However, due to the closeness of publication to the first cut off date for entries, we have decided to extend this deadline.

We appreciate that not everyone uses this, or other forums, to find out information on the games they wish to attend. To give everyone a chance to take advantage of the early entry discount the new deadline for the £45 entry will be 31st January 2007.

We would also take this opportunity to inform you that entries are filling fast and as yet we still have some notable teams missing from the line up (I’m sure you know who you are). The player limit for this game is 150 and I wouldn’t want some of you to miss out on the season opener. Please enter sooner rather than later!!

(The original information posted has also been altered to save on confusion)
