Just got a question.

I've just bought a Flametek Heated Bag for cheap and i'm thinking about fitting a motorbike battery to it.

Good idea or bad idea?

the problem with doing that is the battery will wear down very quickly.
i use a plastic box lined with insulation foil and a car heater inside, the battery that i use for that is a 110amh leisure battery and that only last for about 4- 5 hours if used continually, cost £70 just for the battery

When i designed these they were meant to be kept warm in the car whilst getting to events as most people drove for a couple of hours to the events, the bags got up to temp in about 15 mins and if used correctly would keep the paint at a good temp for up to 4 hours (ish) due to the thermal insulation of the internals..

Even better if you have a mains to 12v supply to plug it in to before you get to the car. Much better if your team mates don't open it up, rip open every bag in side and then leave them lying around before the 1st game, hence the reason both of mine have padlocks on the zippers!

Still the best way to shoot decent paint in the bleak midwinter, I have used them to good effect with Hellfire/Gold at this time of year.

As for the OP's battery Idea, work out the Ah rating of the battery and the draw of the bag and how much time a full charge will give you, if you think its worth it then go for it - if you feel its worth it.

Had mine for a few years, never failed and always keeps my balls warm (flametek bag)! portable power packs are ideal for if it starts to cool down after the initial car journey heating and are reasonalby inexpensive.
