Can this be done at home? I've just bought a new Reg & am getting a bottle from planet soon, what do I need to do to fix the 2 together properly & Can it be done without any mega £££ tools?

Have your hands broken? You don't need any tools to put the two together just some grease on the bottle thread. If the reg is a screw in type then make sure you have a bleed valve in the air line going into your marker so when you unscrew the reg you don't leave the reg in the asa and screw your bottle off.
My Drop fwd has an On/Off on it so b4 ive just turned that off & shot the marker dry until theres no pressure left then the system unscrews easy as pie.
New reg is a screwin one too.

Is that really all you need to do? with all that pressure behind it thats seems exceedingly simple. i.e. only hand-tight

there will be a chunky looking o-ring at the top of the thread on the reg, just screw the bottle on ALL the way until tight and the pressure of the air inside the bottle should keep it on, P.S. dont use loctite on the thread, and dont use ptfe because if a bit tears off into the reg, it wont do it any good!!

I've read before on here about not using Teflon tape, also with the grease, is that molycote stuff that planet sell ok to use?

yup just screw it on hand tight, dont over do it or you will never get the bugger off again!

Yes that or love grease which is basically the same...no oil!! you don't "need" grease but ally to stainless steel or ally to ally isn't that good a match so grease will keep things good, it's up to you.
