Fitting reg to bottle

Might seem like a silly question but when putting reg on a bottle how tight does it have to be?

very good thnx for that but what i really wanted was how tight not how far the treads should goin. but its ok i've sorted it now tnx.

Hand tight, screw it up to the o-ring and feel the o-ring compress as you tighten it fully, until it stops against the shoulder.
