How do I approch my first walk on day. I have bought my own gear and I'm eager to use it for the first time. I have played b4 but not with my own kit and in the past have turned up with friends. Now I'll have to go it alone. I'm a bit put off at the fact I know most walk on dayz are used by teams who play together often and the thought of being the newbie outsider kinda puts me off going, after all I don't want to be the one who lets my team down or gets lit up every game. I luv the game and playing with rental gear and getting that buzz has inspired me the buy the kit and I'm ready to use it, but this step is putting me off. I've watched paintball on TV (Mission Paintball) and most players seem approchable, so am I worrying about nothing.

Also any advice about which site I should goto first, I'm Cheshire so I'm in easy reach of Staffs,Manachester,Birmingham. I'm thinking of playing at On the Edge (Congleton) beginning of next year...any comments?

Most of us that play walk-on, have been where you are now. But I have always found, and yes I do mean always, that paintballers are some of the most friendliest people you will meet. Just go and talk to them, listen to them and you will be fine. And remember next time you go, you won't be the newbie, but a recongised face...

See ya

On The Edge Events are holding a walk on December 16th at Marchbrook near Wrexham. Trust me, you do not want to miss this. Phone them and get booked in for it.
And, yes, you are worrying about nothing! You will love it.

Wargames paintball in Herts are a real friendly site> Before you go out on your first walk on day they let you spectate at one first.
So while the action is hot you can stroll around in a day-glow jacket and see what goes on. And they dont even charge you for the pleasure. See if your site does this too

Honestly I've always found paintballers to be friendly. I always try to be nice to the newbies when they come. The only ones I dont like are the ones who think they are bigger than god and that even though this is their first time they can do everything better than everyone. I wouldn't worry too much, I mean you're going paintballing and thats close to the best thing you can do.

Don't worry about it

Rob,

Suck it and see mate, We get groups from established teams at On the Edge Events Walk on days but 80% are individual walk ons.

I guarantee you'll make some new friends, and like someone else said, the next time you go you won't be the new boy!
