I have never had a £1000 to spend on what I want at one time, and I can't save money to save my life, so I have a masterplan to build my dream marker through an old one.
I have brought an ancient right feed eclipse cocker complete with a (huge) 02 sp maxiflow air system thingy and timed out bottle (currently at h-pac). I have finally got £300 together and the plan so far is to get an eblade trigger frame. I dont know anything technical about autocockers (the idea is to work it out as I go along.)

Just to give you an idea of my possition. The cocker works fine (to my small standards) and I dont NEED to upgrade to e-class as I am only playing my first full tournament next weekend, KoTH.(which will act as a training game). So I am in no rush. The idea is to learn.

my questions are...

Is there any point in getting the eblade frame when my markers body is right feed?
Can an eblade frame be fitted to an ancient right feed body?
Should I get a new body first?
Should I just force my self to save up for the factory eblade cocker (and know nothing about it, but hey.. it will work)
Am I just doing it all wrong and going the wrong way about it?

I'll be honest and say that I actually have two old eclipse cockers but I dont have the second one at hand at the mo. Its with one of the nexus lads I think. I dont know. It looked heavily modified the last time I saw it. I'll get back to that another time.

If you want to see the marker and give me any advice I will be at KoTH/ midland masters next week. just tell me what team your in or what you look like and ill pop over.

any help will be great... cheers

Well...the E-Blade, will work fine on the RF cocker, as long as you set the max rate of fire to something sensible, that you can feed to..Ie: If you are using a Z board eggy, set it at 16 BPS, or there abouts (not quite as easy as that, but pretty much)...with £300 you should be able to get the Frame kit, and a 44Ram and QEV's, or there abouts..which will make an astounding difference to the gat. Once you have the bits, there is nothing stoping you from putting them on a Vert Feed body at a later date, you can buy Vert Body kits.

That is the beauty of Cockers, you can build them up as and when you have the money...next thing would be a a delrin bolt and pin, but you may be able to pick one up on here s/h.

DONT fool yourself that you dont need an electro for tournements.
With the older angels and Impys being so cheap now, most teams are going to have at least basic electro's....you will find your self seriously outgunned, without a few BPS to hurl about!!

If not, I have a mate who is selling an IR3 with an A4 board and bolt in it, so an A4 basicly...probably wont want much more than £300 for it.

ive only just got into paintballing, but ive managed to pickup a 2001 evolution x autococker and a RT pro custom up for £300 and £250 respectivley. in the little time ive been into this ive learnt its MUCH cheaper to let other people to pay for the upgrades and buy they of them when they get bored and want the latest marker or a new challange. Watch ebay closely, i have my secret ways, which im not going to tell everyone, sorry. but if you know how to look, with a little patients you will find. plus there are good deals in the classifieds on this forum. you also have to bear in mind what you need from a marker, and the limits of paintball design, and try to avoid the many myths surrounding this cool sport. http://www.ottersccustoms.com/ac-cockermain.html is a very helpful site. sure 22bps is cool, but do you realy need it, when 1 carefully aimed shot will take out an oponent. good luck with what ever you decide, and you came to the right place for help, there a good people on here. :D

One carefully aimed shot, will indeed take out the opponent..if he sees it, if the marshall sees it...it's a fact of life now, that if you want to play with the big boys, you do need to be able to shoot paint in reasonable quantities...now, by that I am refering to his post specificly, he will not get on too well, with a basic mech cocker, trying to pull off 8 BPS...wont be terribly accurate as he pulls the gat all over the place..no, he doesnt need 22 BPS...but he probably needs 14 or so, to be in with a chance.

so i can put a blade on now and it wont be a problem. then (say next month) get the body and internals. That sounds fair. just set the blade to like 16bps and turn it up when i get the body.

I still dont know what this eye thing on the eblade is all about? can anyone explain? will the eye effect me or the marker in any way?

I will lay odds that you will never complete this project
Waste of time and money to consider doing this now
