Im going to be getting into paintball soon and want to get a wish list together of equipment so im going to put a list up can you give me advice on maybe if the anything better or something to add money isnt a massive problem as such im looking to spend £500-600 max on everything i need

p.s. im not bothered what style i play just dont want to do mil-sim ill really be going to a lot of walk ons intally and see how it goes from there.

For the same money you would spend on an Etek 3 you would be able to look at a used Ego 9 or Empire Axe
Mask - The Avatar is a good mask but whats good for someone else is not always good for you, your mask is about as personal choice you will make and i would always say try before you buy, E vents Dye I4s V Force grillz and profiler are all great masks to try
Hopper- Used Empire Prophecy £50-£60 or used Dye Rotor £60-£75
Air System - you can get a decent used air system on here with some life left in it for £70-£100 (Go for a HP Fibre wraped tank)
You can get a good Empire or Nxe pack on here cheap inough aswell

Hi mate,

For the marker, like maca said, you could get a used Ego9 easily for £300, the benefits are: the marker would be "broken in", and the Ego9 has an LCD display which I believe the Etek3 doesn't?

Hoppers, I would say go with a Rotor and spend the little extra, it's really worth it, they're so easy to maintain and take apart (no screws!).

Air Systems, I think you're on the right track there, a 65/4500 is ideal really. (Avoid Stako systems, you throw them away after 5 years which is a bit daft considering they're no cheaper than other systems).

Masks, I really like the VForce systems, I've only used VForce Profiler, Grill and I've had a go with Dye i4's but I didn't much like them.

If you have a look just under the top of the pages on the forum you can see all the site sponsors, I would recommend LiPS or BZ Paintball is you're wanting to buy new.

I'm in the same boat as you i've had some good help on here doing what your doing asking questions, getting my gear together i've had a good experience with BZ and LiPS are quite local to me although I haven't used them yet, buy what you need new I got a sweet Vanguard Creed for £300 which was my budget, I agree with JameJG on the mask the Vforce systems are great, I like the profiler because I have a big head and it just feels right and vision is good but thats my preference and I got a second with extra lenses for half the price on here after buying new, like maca said if you can try before you buy, I just wish I had found the forum before I bought. Got a great Dye Rotor used maybe once for £80 saving yet more money from buying new. And just sorting a second hand tank.

Point is I suppose I initially too had a budget of £600 for everything to play take £300 for a pretty good marker I was looking at buying all new but just not possible, 'However' £300 has got me banded top end playing gear only a year old, pods, pack, tank, mask, pads. It has also linked me with some peeps who have a vast knowledge of the sport from all over.

for a mask where are some paintball shops that i can go to try them on because i have a lot of interest in some other masks now like Angel eyes (i know that haven't been released)

Some are dedicated shops like thesebut unless you live close you will have to travel.

BZ Paintball - Stockton-on-Tees Near Middlesbrough
Just Paintball - Darlington (Co Durham)
You may be better off checking some of the sites near you some have shops attached but I watched quite a few reviews on youtube asked people, I saw a Grillz on here for £40 with chrome lens recently but generally £30 second hand, head along to a walk on and speak with players who will be using most current masks.
