Well I'm new to this forum and it has a wealth of information that is really helpful, the classifieds are brilliant and there are some proper bargains so I can't wait to get into it!!
My question is I use a rather large BT 4 and want to change guns ,what do you suggest is a good conversion to a tourney gun?? I'll have about £300 to spend when I sell the BT
cheers

Welcome to the Forum.

I'm Guessing from your post you have had a bit of play time in the woods and you may have seen a few markers there that are tournament suitable. Did anything grab your fancy?

If nothing springs to mind i would suggest going a long to your nearest tournament and having a go on a few and seein which you prefer.

hope this helps.

If you will have £300 to spend then you have a good bit of choice of some good used markers:-

Vanguard Creed - around £300-£330 usually
Etek 2 - £150-£230 ish
Etek 3 - at a push, normally go in the £300's
Ego - Should be able to pick anything up to around a 9 if lucky
Invert Mini - in the £100's
Ion - anything from £60 to £150 depending on spec and condition
Proto PMR
Dye DM's
Dye NT - possibly, they are coming down in price so may get lucky

Many more.

If you still intend to play woodsball/scenario and want something tactical (wth rails) then a 2nd hand MacDev Drone will cost around £300 (if you can find one). Smart Parts SP1 2nd hand go for anything from £60 to £150, or you can buy a brand new GoG G1 (the new version of the SP1) for £199.

These are all electro, low pressure, markers and you will notice a big difference in smoothness, accuracy and efficienct over your BT4.

If you're looking at getting a first marker, i'd advise against a Vanguard Creed, as they require a lot of work to keep running from what i've heard (Ideal for tech experts) Ideally you'll probably want something which is a lot easier to maintain, strip and learn, such as the Etek or Ego mentioned above

would defo say a good condition etek 2, or try and hunt down a etek3 for low enough. 2nd or 3rd gen minis are great guns as well, although not as easy to get apart quickly for cleaning/maintenance.

Don't take offence, but if you have heard something from a mate, that doesnt mean you should go announcing it as your own words. There is nothing wrong with the Creed. Your "sponsored" mates, who probably only have a discounted support package, should have called their "sponsors" and sorted it out with them.

Rat has given you the perfect advise. Only way to buy a gun is to get out there and ask to have a go with someones that you like the look of.

What ever gun you do decide on, it is worth your while learning how to strip it properly, clean and lube it, and some general maintenance. All available via youtube, or asking on here. Basically, if you learn how it works, and you set it up correctly, whatever gun you get will work well.
