Will not comment on the field design in the Madrid, but I will say this much, the worst design were in Paris and in Madrid...........hm

What is going to be done about this next year? What does the NPPL do? What about some kind of committee? A set of basic rules?

We don't need fu****"jack in the box" fields! as a veteran Pro player said in Madrid.

a field is based on basic primatives.

if you're serious about making fields, download a trial version from here:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?id=5659302&siteID=123112

i have templates for fields if you want them,
send me a PM. (i think all my templates are Xball fields, but i can whip up a Millennium template as well if you like)

it would be nice to see people design fields instead of complaining about the hard work of others...

Fair question Nick, I understand that it several opinions on field design.

Several of the fields this year has been impossible to "sone off" some field key bunkers can be taken without the other team knowing.....hence jack in the box.

If you compare ex. the Tomahawk field to the Dye field in Madrid, both fields had key bunkers that could eliminate the other team. On the Dye field there was one solution, go and get the bunker before the other team, there were no way you could sone off and keep the other team out. The Tomahawk field had the same devastating bunker (even better bunker), the Zipper, to get in the zipper you had to fight the other team for dominance to get a player in there. If the other team got in you could keep the damage down and if you played like a team, communicated and pushed the other side.......

The point I am making is that there should be some parameter for building fields. There is some much "luck" involved in PB that we don't need more uncertainties and I think a lot of the fields this year made winning and loosing a game of chance.

I don't have the answer how it shoud be done but I think something should be done before next year, even if we don't know which format we are playing......

Just my opinion on the matter.

I agree. The Dye field was lunacy. There was no way you could see what the hell was going on in the center and no way you could contain it. Then it was suddenly surprise surprise somebody popping out of the snake and nobody on the whole field saw him go in. The luck factor should definitely be limited as much as possible.

.

there seems to be less snakes/zippers etc nowadays and i think snakes make the game alot more exciting, (there is always a snake on Xball fields)
